Tustin, Calif. American Arium has launched SourcePoint 6.5.1, the latest update to its debugger line for ARM-architecture processors. Version 6.5.1 supports ARM7, ARM9, ARM11 and Cortex cores; offers serial wire debug (SWD), and delivers enhanced Linux OS-aware debug support.
Most of the modifications/changes/additions are transparent to the user but are said to deliver better performance. The OS-aware debug solutions deliver full symbolic, source-level debugging of Linux kernel code (including loadable kernel modules) and applications (including shared libraries). Developers can launch or attach to processes with seamless transitions to and from the kernel and each process, said the company.
In addition, Arium delivers kernel debug straight out of reset, dynamic debug of loaded Linux kernel modules, and Linux console output through the JTAG port, eliminating a serial or Ethernet port requirement. SourcePoint 6.5.1 works with Arium's HS-1000S trace port analyzer and the LC-500 JTAG emulator.
