San Jose, Calif. Phase Matrix Inc. has introduced three wideband voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) modules that cover the 4 to 12.5 GHz range. These devices target test and measurement, microwave communications, military and industrial applications.
The VTO-6000-67S, VTO-7500-67T and VTO-10250-44M VCO modules provide frequency coverage from 4 to 8 GHz, 5 to 10 GHz and 8 to 12.5 GHz, respectively, and feature an integrated buffer amplifier for increased output power and load isolation. These VCO modules offer phase noise performance as low as -95 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz. Output power of standard products is typically 10 dBm.
The VCO modules are available in industry standard TO-8, SMT or coaxial output packages. The fundamental oscillators use silicon bipolar transistor technology and hyper-abrupt varactor diodes simultaneously, enabling low phase noise and wide bandwidth. DC tuning voltages range from 0 to +20 V. Modulation bandwidths are better than 20 MHz. The modules are also available in hermetically sealed packages to meet military assembly requirements.
