Munich, Germany Rohde & Schwarz has introduced the low-power SLA8000 DAB broadcast transmitter with power ratings up to 300 watts in a compact package.
The R&S SLA8000 has been developed for the DAB technology in accordance with the EUREKA 147 and the relevant sub-standards (T-DMB, DAB-IP, DAB+) in the VHF band from 174 MHz to 240 MHz. The DAB transmitter is available in three models 75 W, 150 W, and 300 W and can be operated on a desktop or installed in a rack. The DAB transmitter occupies only three (75 W and 150 W) or four (300 W model) height units. AC supply voltage range is 90 V to 265 V.
Key features include precorrection for simplified installation and various remote controls. Operation is via a keypad and display or web browser. The transmitter can be optionally equipped with a parallel interface, modem interface and SNMP. Operating parameters are displayed on the front panel via LEDs.
In addition, it is possible to update the operating software and to install modifications of the transmit standard. All operation-relevant data can be easily transferred from one transmitter to the next or saved on a central server, said the company. The transmitters support the N+1 (including 1+1) standby configurations.
