Hudson, N.H. Vectron International has introduced its smallest crystal oscillator in a 3.2 x 2.5-mm hermetically sealed ceramic package for data storage, telecommunications, networking and wireless applications. The VCS3 crystal oscillator is 77% smaller than today's standard 7 x 5-mm packaging.
The VCS3 leverages the industry's latest technological advances in ASIC development, a high Q crystal resonator in conjunction with a high-performance synthesizer ASIC, to create CMOS outputs as high as 200 MHz. Operating from supply voltages of 3.3 V, 2.5 V or 1.8 V, the crystal oscillator offers stability performance up to 25 ppm. The device offers two operating temperature ranges of -10°C to 70°C (commercial) and -40°C to 85°C (industrial).
In addition, the company uses a proprietary testing and programming technology that allows VCS3 samples to be shipped in as little as 48 hours and production volumes in two weeks. The device is manufactured and tested to meet quality and reliability standards based on MIL-STD-883. The device is RoHS compliant.
