Munich, Germany Epson Toyocom Corp. has developed a pre-tilted gyro-sensor that can be installed in automotive navigation systems. The latest addition to the XV-8000 series, the XV-8000LK, targets dead reckoning car navigation applications.
Leveraging the company's unique crystal gyro element and QMEMS technology along with its expertise in low-power analog circuits and packaging, the XV-8000 series devices deliver high stability and an ultra-small form factor. The sensor in the XV-8000LK is assembled with a pre-tilt angle in the package. This pre-tilt offers greater flexibility in determining the installation angle in dashboards. Available in two versions, one type offers a tilt angle of 10 degrees while the other delivers a tilt angle of 20 degrees.
Packaged in a small 6.0 x 4.8 x 3.3-mm footprint, the XV-8000LK gyro sensor offers a supply voltage of 4.75 to 5.25 V, a scale factor of 25.0 mV/deg/sec and rate range of ±60°/second. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
The lead-free device provides a zero-point voltage of 2.5 V and zero-point voltage temperature variation of ±3.5%.
