Munich, Germany Epson Toyocom Corp. has developed a series of programmable crystal oscillators that are used as clocks in office equipment, PCs, mobile devices and other general consumer electronics. The SG-8003CE series of simple packaged crystal oscillators (SPXOs) are the first programmable SPXOs to support low voltages and high frequencies, said Epson.
The SG-8003CE series supports low voltages of 1.8 V, 2.5 V and 3.3V and frequencies from 1 MHz up to 166 MHz. The oscillators consume 50% less current than their predecessors, making them a suitable choice for a wide range of mobile devices and other equipment where low power consumption is critical. The device is housed in a 3.2 x 2.5-mm package.
Availability: Volume production will begin in January 2008.
