Newton, Mass. C&K Components has extended the operational life of its KSC and KSR series of tact switches, aimed at industrial, consumer and automotive applications.
Specified for the automotive and consumer electronics markets, the KSR series devices now have an operational life of up to 200,000 cycles. Measuring 6 x 3.8 x 1.75 mm, the switches feature silver or gold plating, G terminations, and rubber actuators. Configured with normally open contacts, the tact switches offer four actuation forces.
C&K said its highly automated manufacturing process has resulted in a significant increase in the operational life of the KSC series tact switches. Targeted at the industrial sector, the switches now perform up to 1,000,000 cycles, the equivalent of 274 operations every day for ten years, said C&K. Measuring 6.2 x 6.2 x 2.5 mm, the devices are completely sealed and feature silver or gold plating and J or G terminations. They are offered in different actuator types, normally open contacts and five actuation forces. Both the KSC and KSR devices are RoHS compliant.
