Carrollton, Tex. TT electronics OPTEK Technology has developed a series of optically coupled isolators that feature extended electrical isolation for medical, industrial and office equipment. The OPI120 and OPI123 series isolators are rated to 15 kV and feature a hermetically sealed infrared LED packaged with either a phototransistor or photodarlington output.
Available with a choice of outputs and other electrical options, the OPI120 and OPI123 optically coupled isolators are suitable for high-voltage isolation between input and output as well as electrical isolation in dirty or contaminated environments including industrial, medical and office equipment.
The OPI120 and OPI123 isolators are sealed in a pre-cast opaque housing with an optically transmissive path between the LED and the photosensor. The isolators feature an LED with a peak wavelength of 890 nm or 935 nm, a forward DC current of 150 mW and power dissipation rating of 200 mW. Minimum collector-emitter voltages for the output photosensor are 25 V and 20 V, respectively, with an emitter-collector voltage of 5 V and power dissipation of 250 mW. The operating temperature ranges from -55°C to +100°C.
The optoisolators are UL approved under file #E58730. Custom electrical specifications, wire and cabling, and connectors are available. TX and TXV-level processing is also offered.
