Santa Barbara, Calif.Green Hills Software Inc. has developed a software development toolkit targeting Applied Micro Circuit Corp.'s (AMCC) Power Architecture 405EZ embedded processor, a 32-bit RISC device.
Components of the development toolkit include: royalty-free RTOSes, optimizing C/C++ compilers for Power Architecture, MULTI integrated development environment (IDE), virtual prototyping platform, DoubleCheck integrated static analyzer, and high-speed hardware debug probes.
The MULTI integrated development environment provides the DSO tool set for embedded software developers. Green Hills Power Architecture compilers generates what it says is the fastest and smallest code in the industry for Power Architecture (formerly known as PowerPC). Green Hills' probe provides efficient debugging using the Power Architecture 405EZ JTAG port.
The Power Architecture 405EZ embedded processor delivers speeds of up to 400 MHz, a flexible on-chip and off-chip memory architecture, a combination of ADC, DAC, and configurable Chameleon Timer/PWM, and a diverse connectivity package. Applications include industrial control, high-precision AC, DC and servo drive control, instrumentation, data acquisition, industrial automation, building and enclosure management, commercial and retail systems, Internet appliances, and intelligent USB peripherals.
