Malvern, Pa. Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has released two low-capacitance, quad electrostatic discharge (ESD) diode protection arrays in the tiny new LLP1010-5L package using environmentally friendly "green" molding compound.
With a 1 x 1-mm footprint and an extremely low 0.4-mm profile, the VESD05A4A-HS4 and VESD09A4A-HS4 diode protection arrays are designed to save board space and provide 4-line ESD data port protection in mobile electronics devices such as portable gaming systems, MP3 players, and cell phones.
The two devices differ by their maximum working range, low load capacitance, surge current, and low typical leakage current. The VESD05A4A-HS4 offers a maximum working voltage of 5 V, 12 pF capacitance, surge current of >2.5 A and low typical leakage current of <1 uA at 5 V. The VESD09A4A-HS4 offers a maximum working voltage of 9V, 6.5 pF capacitance, surge current of >1.5 A and low typical leakage current of <0.5 uA at 9 V.
Both diodes provide transient protection for four data lines as per IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) at ±15 kV (contact discharge) and ±20 kV (air discharge). The lead (Pb)-free devices are compliant with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC.
Pricing: $0.10 per piece for U.S. delivery in quantities of 100,000.
Availability: Samples will be available in Q4 2007. Production quantities will be available in Q1 2008, with lead times of 10 weeks for large orders.
