Warren, N.J. ANADIGICS, Inc. has introduced its AWM6422 power amplifier at the Mobile World Congress 2008. The AWM6422 operates in the 2.3- to 2.4-GHz frequency band allocated for broadband mobile wireless services, which expands the company's portfolio for WiMAX and WiBro (Korea) systems.
The AWM6422 power amplifier (PA) is said to deliver exceptional linearity and efficiency at high levels of output power. The AWM6422 supports the IEEE 802.16e-2005 wireless standard, IEEE 802.16d- 2004 and the ETSI EN301-021 standards. Optimized for use in mobile devices, the AWM6422 requires a nominal +3.3-V supply, but also provides enhanced RF performance when used with supply voltages as high as +4.2 V.
In addition to using ANADIGICS' patented InGaP-Plus technology, the AWM6422 power amplifier features an integrated 25 dB attenuator and integrated output power detector. It provides greater than 30 dB of RF gain and 50-ohm matched RF ports for reduced external component count.
Availability: Sampling now with volume production scheduled for the end of first quarter 2008.
