Hudson, N.H. Vectron International has expanded its high-temperature frequency control product portfolio with the launch of its VX-400, a voltage controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) for harsh environment applications. Designed for continuous operation in temperatures up to 200°C, the VX-400 is said to provide exceptional phase noise and high shock and vibration performance for extreme environment applications including oil and gas exploration, industrial process control, and military and aerospace applications.
The VX-400 leverages Vectron's unique crystal resonator mounting, as well as its substrate and component attachment schemes to ensure reliable component performance under shock and vibration. The VCXO also guarantees an absolute pull range (APR) up to +/-50 ppm over the entire operating temperature range from -55°C to +200°C, allowing customers to maintain lock as well as VCXO calibration over the entire operating temperature range.
The VX-400 offers an output frequency of 10 MHz to 30 MHz and 3.3-Vdc or 5-Vdc operation. The VCXO exhibits low jitter of <0.2 ps RMS and phase noise of -150 dBc/Hz at 10 KHz offset. The device is housed in a standard 4-pin DIP package.
Vectron will showcase the VX-400 at the IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, June 17-19 in Atlanta, Georgia, at Booth 1501.
