Elk Grove Village, Ill. BlockMaster Electronics Inc. has designed the DGSBID series of four-way terminal blocks to provide connectivity without the use of tools. The connector series allows for the terminations of both insulated and stripped wires through its poke home screwless terminations, thus eliminating the need for tools.
Stripped wires use a poke home position while insulated wires are pushed between vertical V-shaped tangs that displace the insulation, thus allowing for up to four-wire terminations in a unit of about 5/8th of an inch. This flexibility makes the DGSBID devices suitable for a range of applications including garage door openers, electronic ballasts, thermostats, and alarm systems.
The DGSBID series, available in 2-12 positions, can accept wire gauges from 16 to 20 AWG solid conductor with a rating of 300 V at 4 Amps. Housing is constructed of polyamide 66 (UL94V-0) with white as the standard color. The devices are RoHS compliant with tin-plated, phosphor bronze terminals. The operating temperature range is from -40° to +105°C.
Pricing: Two-position units are currently quoted at $.40 in quantities of 500.
