Amherst, Mass. Amherst Systems Associates Inc. (ASA Corp.) has released Version 6.01 of its M1 oscilloscope tools software family. The key enhancement in this upgrade is the PLL toolkit, designed to provide new views and measurements critical to understanding the behavior of PLLs in a system.
An important innovation in the PLL toolkit is the inclusion of Constructed Separation values along with the measured values, said ASA. This measures the mean separation between the signals, and then use parameters calculated individually from each signal to construct the theoretical worst-case separation values.
There are three pathological mechanisms that will cause a critical path to fail: a short cycle, a large displacement (cycle-cycle) failure, or an accumulated error failure. The Standard Critical Path Analysis (SCPA) screen of the PLL toolkit brings these three values together in one place for easy reference, together with diagrams that show how each of the pathologies causes a failure.
Pricing: Existing M1 users with an active software subscription are eligible to install this upgrade at no additional charge. M1 OT employs scalable pricing, depending on the scope. Pricing ranges from $995 to $7995 in five steps.
Availability: Version 6.01 of M1 OT will be available in early September 2008.
