MUNICH, Germany Automotive realtime networking expert TTTech Automotive (Vienna) has announced a software tool to validate the consistency of Autosar components in electronic control units (ECUs). TTX-Autoverify increases the engineering efficiency during system integration and thus helps to reduce time-to-market and costs, the vendor claims.
The development of Autosar-compliant ECUs contain new challenges in design and verification. When engineers integrate ECUs into the car's internal network, it is necessary to make sure that the parameters are consistent with the ones determined during the network design.
TTX-Autoverify enables designers to systematically assess the configuration of the ECU software and thus supports the automatic verification process. The correct and consistent ECU configuration can be safeguarded by the supplier before shipping. OEMs using the tool can identify possible incompatibilities and inconsistencies before the start of the integration tests. The tool avoids costly and laborious fault analysis in cases of sporadic errors caused by slightly misconfigured bus parameters.
Support for open standards and easy adaptability via scripting interfaces allow excellent integration into existing design processes, the vendor promises. The tool also permits the test of systems running cross-vendor standard software components. In addition, TTX-autoverify supports the Fibex tool for FlexRay communications descriptions.
