Maxim Integrated Products has introduced dual, synchronous, step-down, switch-mode power-supply (SMPS) controllers that feature a constant on-time, Quick-PWM architecture to support wide input/output voltage ratios, while maintaining a relatively constant switching frequency.
The blend of flexibility and performance makes the MAX17007A/MAX17008 devices ideal for GPU cores and I/O power generation in battery-powered systems.
The two SMPS controllers can also be combined to operate as a two-phase, high-current, single-output GPU core regulator for powering the high-performance GPU engines used in gaming machines and media center notebooks.
The MAX17007A/MAX17008 devices are available in a space-saving, 4 mm x 4 mm, 28-pin TQFN package, and are fully specified over the -40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius extended-industrial temperature range.
