Optrex has developed a new capacitive touch switch based on technology experience gained in the smart phone market. This capacitive touch switch detects variations in position and command. This technology offers the highest standards of optical performance with ease of design. Capacitive touch solutions focus on applications like Human Machine Interface, Hand Held Terminal, Gaming, Medical Equipment, POS and Mobile.
Optrex new touch Switch Solutions provide outstanding clarity & easy design. Additional to resistive touch screens, Optrex now also offers capacitive touch switch solutions. Our new capacitive touch switch technology eliminates air gaps and reduces the number of layers. An improved visibility results from less reflectivity and higher transparency of the as well thinner display sensor stack (0.5mm 0.7mm thickness in viewing area ). Therefore the new solutions not only offer an excellent optical performance but also are more compact and leight weight. The capacitive touch screen responds to control input from a finger without requiring the application of any pressure. The structure is very robust and has no wear out of the sensor elements. Lifetime is about 100 mill. touches. It is also durable against various liquids as well as easy to clean.

The new touch switch solution from Optrex has a transparency of min. 95% and the reflection is less than 15%.The operating temperature is indicated with -20°C - +70°C.
Products based on the capacitive touch technology are currently available for demonstration and design-in purpose in 3.0” (T-55149) and 3.5” (T-55343). In autum additional sizes in 5.7” (T- 55265) and 6.5” (T-51750) will be available. Our touch switch solution is available alone or with TFT.
