Brussels, Belgium — The GENIVI Alliance, an automotive industry association driving the development and adoption of an open in-vehicle Infotainment (IVI) reference platform, will be demonstrating the initial implementation of the GENIVI 1.0 platform in Las Vegas during International CES 2010, January 7th to 10th. The rollout of the 1.0 platform will help accelerate development of infotainment applications for connected vehicles.
GENIVI 1.0 is a combination of code the Alliance created to meet automotive-specific requirements and open source components it integrated into the stack to provide standard connectivity with consumer electronics and mobile devices. This will serve as the first version that member OEMs such as General Motors, BMW, Nissan, Renault or PSA can use as the foundation for new product development. The platform can be utilized by Tier One suppliers for product development efforts as well.
