SAN JOSE, Calif.Privately held Parallel Engines Corp. Wednesday (April 28) announced the availability of a directory indexing more than 17,000 IP blocks and FPGA devices.
Parallel Engines (Cupertino, Calif.) said the directory, www.FPGAIPDirectory.com, enables customers to search for semiconductor IP and retrieve vendor datasheets, meta information and FPGA device configurations. Meta information includes IP interfaces, LUT, BRAM, I/O and embedded IP resources, costs and packages, the company said.
Parallel Engines was founded by George Janac, an EDA veteran who previously founded Chip Estimate and High Level Design Systems.
"FPGA design has long been served by a disaggregated IP supply chain," Janac said through a statement. "Our goal is to change that. We are integrating many elements to bring EDA and IP together for FPGA."
Parallel Engines said it has aggregated more than 4,000 soft IP blocks and embedded hard IP from more than 300 vendors, along with verification and software IP. The company said its directory includes FPGA devices from Xilinx Inc., Altera Corp., Actel Corp. and Lattice Semiconductor Corp..
Customers can find information on both IP and devices, Parallel Engines said. Subscription customers will be able to access data for pricing, configurations, AMBA, AXI, AHB, OCP, interfaces, I/O standards, packages, power and others, the company said.
Parallel Engines also announced the expansion of its beta program for its Platform Specification system, FpgaRFQ (standing for FPGA request-for-quote). This system allows the definition of FPGA Platforms based on IP content, the company said.
