SAN FRANCISCOXilinx K.K., the Japanese subsidiary of the No. 1 ranked vendor of programmable logic, has collaborated with Hitachi Information & Communication Engineering Ltd. on a new LongBench platform for system-level verification designed around Xilinx Virtex-6 LX760 FPGAs and other members of the Virtex-6 families, the companies announced.
Hitachi Information & Communication Engineering began selling the platfor, known as LogicBench, to the Japanese domestic market last week, the companies said.
LogicBench series are verification platforms for algorithm design, large-scale integration (LSI) feature testing, hardware-software integration testing, FPGA prototyping system verification and all other system design processes, according to the companies. By combining system-level modeling technology, the platform enables architecture exploration for LSI development and advanced software development from an early stage and provides a prototyping environment for developing image-processing, network and other devices requiring complex algorithms, the firms said.
Since its first release in 1998, more then 500 LogicBench modules for about 60 sites have been sold, making it one of the most popular platforms in Japan's prototyping market, according to Xilinx. Virtex-6 is the sixth generation of Xilinx's flagship Virtex FPGAs designed into the LogicBench series, the company said.
More information about the latest LongBench platform is available on Hitachi Information and Communication Engineering's website.
