Synopsys Inc. has integrated the WiCkeD tool suite from MunEDA GmbH (Munich, Germany) in its HSPICE, CustomSim and Galaxy Custom Designer design and simulation environments.
MunEDA's WiCkeD is a comprehensive tool suite for the analysis, modeling, optimization and verification of analog mixed-signal circuit designs and IP libraries. WiCkeD supports the circuit designer with interactive manual, semi- and full- automatic tools to improve and optimize ICs for functionality, performance, robustness and yield.
WiCkeD now complements Synopsys' Galaxy Custom Designer SE schematic editor. It has a tight interface with Synopsys' HSPICE and CustomSim simulation environment. This enables circuit designers to access and utilize all WiCkeD tools intuitively from the Synopsys-based design & simulation environment.
WiCkeD supports Synopsys' HSPICE and CustomSim circuit simulation solutions within Synopsys Custom Designer but also from netlist stand-alone as well as third-party design environments. Synopsys Custom WaveView can be launched from within WiCkeD during circuit sizing.
WiCkeD is compatible with HSPICE and CustomSim Design-for-Yield Process and Interconnect Variation Analysis, supporting the Variation Block and many other features of HSPICE & CustomSim.

MunEDA announced it had joined the Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) and the Si2's Open Process Design Kit Coalition (OPDKC).
MunEDA then said it would mainly collaborate in the Si2 OpenPDK coalition to bring in and share our deep knowledge in design analysis, modeling and optimization methodologies with the other Si2 partners.
