I guess Infineon would be the first company to come up with a unique watchdog chip very much needed by the safety critical system designers. Being a coded windowed watchdog, CIC61508 shall provide very high level of diagnostic coverage for the microcontroller it monitors (might be at SIL3 level)! Earlier I saw only windowed watchdog offered be some companies such as TI for such applications.
