NXP Semiconductors N.V. has unveiled an extension to its high speed data converter technology portfolio and the next generation of the CGV high speed serial interface announced in 2009. CGVxpress will be used in future NXP ADC and DAC product families.
CGVxpress (Convertisseur Grande Vitesse or High Speed Converter) interface technology is ideal for: wireless infrastructure (WIFR), industrial, scientific, medical (ISM), and aerospace and defense (A&D) applications, where high bandwidth, sample accurate lane synchronization and deterministic latency are critically technical requirements. The CGVxpress feature set also includes support for Multi-Device Synchronization (MDS). MDS solves tough system synchronization and latency challenges in many digital communications system applications, including LTE and LTE-Advanced MIMO radio base stations.

The CGV interface currently appears on several products in NXP’s high speed ADC and DAC product line - including the ADC1413D and DA1408D product families.
NXP offers several CGV products, including the ADC1413D and DAC1408D, both of which are currently available. Specific products utilizing CGVxpress technology at 4.5 Gbps and higher will be announced later this year.
