What is the resolution offered by such sensor based position measurement system? is it better than the optical systems currently used in machine tools. As far as the automotive are concerned what could possibly be the applications of such a sensor?

We talk with Patterson and one of his colleagues behind the effort about the opportunities they see, what new kinds of designs they hope to enable and what it means for today’s commercial processor giants such as Intel, ARM and Imagination Technologies.
