It is a big step to change the heartbeat of your system. These use a piezo resonator fabricated at MEMs level, not quite the same as a quartz crystal. But if it delivers, expect to see it built into SoCs. I'm still waiting for MCUs and oscillator manufacturers to implement a differential interface for low EMI. Now pin count isn't so critical there's no excuse

pMEMS is a quartz crystal free oscillator.The company says this is more reliable and lower cost compared to the quartz based oscillators. They also provide a evaluation board to test these components easily. They are seeming to even provide few thousand numbers of custom specified frequencies.
