Effciency gains can be 4-6% on a PWM drive -- 1.33*Motor HP x hrs operating x Cost/KWH x Effciency Gain = savings in electricity costs Thus for a 100hp motor at $0.10 / KWH at 5% gain it will save about $5890/yr savings in electricy costs

What is the cost ratio to the best Si FETs and IBTs? How long of a payback period before dfferential cost iof SIC over SI is payed for with efficiency gains, and/or maintenance cot reductions?
