An enterprise-class PCIe all-flash I/O accelerator features hybrid memory technology to improve performance in servers, appliances and storage platforms. The P420m from Micron Technology offers up to 3 GB/s sequential read performance and up to 750,000 IOPS random read performance. The device delivers more than 3,200 web server requests per second, making it ideal for data center applications such as online transaction processing (OLTP), data warehousing and virtualization.
The vertically integrated accelerator card uses Micron’s 25-nm multi-level-cell (MLC) NAND flash technology, DRAM, firmware and drivers. It also uses the company’s XPERT architecture, which incorporates the storage and controller. The SSD is available in half-height, half-length (HHHL) and 2.5-inch form factors in 350-GB, 700-GB and 1.4-TB capacities. The 2.5-inch form factor allows drive access from the front of the server, eliminating the need to power down the server for drive service.
The P420m is currently sampling with volume production expected to begin in June 2013. For additional information, visit Micron
