Known for their motion tracking device technology, InvenSense entered the industrial market with the MPU-3300, the first single-chip, high-performance integrated 3-axis industrial gyroscope.
The solution delivers high performance and reliability, low power and cost, combined with ultra-precise positioning and monitoring—specifically addressing industrial applications where reliability, size and low power rule. The MPU-3300,in a 4x4x0.9mm QFN package, is 10x smaller than industrial gyroscopes currently on the market.
Delivering ease of use and a high degree of axis alignment compared with the complexity of dealing with three-chip solutions, the single chip MPU-3300 also lowers noise by 100% compared with alternative offerings, upping the accuracy of measurement for industrial apps.
The gyroscope has a bias instability of 15-degrees/hour making it suitable for industrial applications that need extremely stable performance for precision-attitude tracking, such as Attitude Heading Reference Systems (AHRS). These systems are seen in aerospace, robotics, and other cases where device orientation must be measured.
The MPU-3300 features a factory calibrated, monolithic 3-axis gyroscope that is easily integrated into space-constrained products. It has a temperature range from -40°C to +105°C, suited for harsh industrial use. Its sensitivity scale factor variation over the temperature range is ±2%, and zero-rate output variation is ±0.14dps/°C.
