Microsemi has announced the availability of its first production-qualified SmartFusion2 System-on-Chip FPGAs, the M2S050 and M2S050T.
These devices are available for shipment in the FG896 ball grid array package. The same device in an FG484 package will be available for shipment starting the 21st of June. Both leaded (FG) and non-leaded (FGG) packages will be available at the stated dates.

The release of the M2S050 and M2S050T (Transceiver equipped) devices will be followed by the introduction of the M2S010(T) and M2S025(T) devices in the FG484 and VF400 packages starting in July. The low gate count M2S005, ideal for cost-effective solutions that still need the unique features of SmartFusion2 devices, will roll-out in September.
The higher logic density devices (M2S090, M2S100, and M2S150, all available with or without Transceivers) will be available in early 2014, as will devices with additional data security features.
Microsemi's next-generation SmartFusion2 SoC FPGAs are the only devices that address fundamental requirements for advanced security, high reliability and low power in critical industrial, military, aviation, communications and medical applications. SmartFusion2 devices integrate an inherently reliable flash-based FPGA fabric, a 166 megahertz (MHz) ARM Cortex-M3 processor, advanced security processing accelerators, DSP blocks, SRAM, Non-Volatile Memories, and industry-required high-performance communication interfaces all on a single chip (Click Here to learn more).
SmartFusion2 SoC FPGAs are supported by an ever growing ecosystem of design tools, IP and kits, supported by both Microsemi and our partners. We have engaged with over 300 customers in the Lead Customer Program, and this continued close interaction has resulted in numerous customers that have placed orders for production silicon or are starting active designs with SmartFusion2 SoC FPGAs.
