Shame on D-Wave if they won't give Seth his pesos if he deserves them......Hope they don't need his advice/help in the future....Us scientists are like Doctors; you want to live...Pay Me!  I like humans to some point.....but I like Rolls-Royces and Patek Philippe watches even more.  I have/own all kinds of Valuable Inventions, but they are in my head...not even on paper.  Even the notes are extremely well hidden underground, using geocache.  I even practice playing real dumb under torture.  Why should I buy dinner for me, then give it to you, when I'm the one who is really hungry.  P.S. this comment is copyrighted, pay me to use it.

You are probably right.  Privacy will not in all likelihood drive proliferation of Big Data.  Check this New York Times piece:

Sounds like a sci-fi to me still. Quantum computation has only been tested on a small scale and commercial product is quite far away IMHO. Getting VC funding will be tough though government agencies can probably shell out money.
