I agree Rick...in my experience OIF typically defines new protocols...so SDN is going to happen, Kris

In my experience the OIF has been a pretty serious group focused on solving pressing tech issues at carriers. Its involvement in SDN tells me SDN traction has gone beyond Google to carrier networks.
