If this only will be really effective, this can save lots amount of electric power and the use of solar cell is indeed cheaper. - Marla Ahlgrimm

It is mentioned that the IR up-converter would theoretically make 10% more light useful for converting to electrical power. So, theoretically a 10% increase in efficiency? But not sure how much power does the IR up-converter consumes.
