Let's not forget Antonio's Nut House, 321 S California Avenue in Palo Alto.  Pool tables, free peanuts, and a stuffed gorilla make this one of the good old hangouts

Well put. When I used to live in the Bay Area, I went to Fry's looking for a source, ANY source, who could talk to me on engineering topics!
