My guess is you will need one for each hand. Position sensing could give you some nice options for scrolling, selecting, and other commands...

a hundred bucks is a maximum in my mind...fifty would be better...we will see how well they will do

I think the technology of the gadget in the article and the fin are similar.

why ring? bracelet or watch fits as nicely but is larger so you can pack more hardware anf functionality
