Texas Instruments has pushed the Tiva Series of development boards to a new place today. The Tiva C series TM4C1294 not only aims to secure a place in the Internet of Things, but also on the workbenches of tinkerers, since the price point is only $19.
At the heart of the Tiva C TM4C1294 is the extremely capable TM4c1294ncpdt mcu, a 120 MHz 32-bit ARM-Cortex M4F, with which we are already familiar. However, the last time we saw this on a development board, the price was $199! Even though it is astonishingly cheaper, this new offering doesn't skimp on the features. Loaded on this board are more expansion capabilities than you could possibly ask for. The creators have included not only two of their stackable expansion ports, called "booster ports," but also an area for freeform prototyping included directly on the PCB.
Not only do you have access to the normal development tools that TI would typically include, but thanks to a collaboration with Exosite there is also a cloud-based interface for interacting with the board.
