Altera must have got a huge first customer discount. The Broadwell benchmark is not even out yet.

Altera is carving out a niche in the FPGA business and Xilinx needs to be extremely concerned. They continue to innovate with good pricing model. Intel is looking at where to get business to fill excess capacity in its foundry. That is good for them as they seek these partners.
