@MeasurementBlues: The poor bagel does a painful death.

Not at all -- it's a "Born Again (in Bacon) Bagel"

@MeasurementBlues: Real bagel bakeries such as Rosenfeld's in Newton, Mass. or Kossar's in NYC would never sell you bacon with their bagels.

@HilaryLusting tweeted that the bagel doesn't look good enough to be from the NY/NJ area.

Real bagel bakeries such as Rosenfeld's in Newton, Mass. or Kossar's in NYC would never sell you bacon with their bagels. Corporate places such as Einstein, who don't understand bagels, will.

Uh, I'd be more worried about the drinks getting into the equipment if spilled.  And the ESD generating properties of the plastic containers.  We got rid of styrofoam cups a few years ago in favor of paper - help the environment and cut ESD at the same time, but I make a point of not bringing drinks into the lab ever and encourage others to do the same.

@MeasurementBlues: Never ruin a bagel by eating it with bacon

It simply isn't possible for porcine ambrosia to ruin anything -- including a bagel -- in fact, now you have me thinking of a bagel with cream cheese -- chives -- and BACON!!! Ha!

Reminder: Never ruin a bagel by eating it with bacon (or any meat for that matter).

@DrQuine,

A real bagel goes stale rather quickly.

@MeasurementBlues: Never cut a bagel in half, for it will longer be a bagel.

I scoff at your Zen philosophies (while I scarf a bagel)

David Patterson, known for his pioneering research that led to RAID, clusters and more, is part of a team at UC Berkeley that recently made its RISC-V processor architecture an open source hardware offering. We talk with Patterson and one of his colleagues behind the effort about the opportunities they see, what new kinds of designs they hope to enable and what it means for today’s commercial processor giants such as Intel, ARM and Imagination Technologies.
