Since we all know that the semiconductor industry is cyclical, we expect the associated job demand to follow. How about a plot of those two thing!

Better than when I graduated back in the early 1980s, when even engineering graduates were struggling to land jobs.

Electrical and Electronics engineers with fair understanding of mechanical issues and system integration is a very good skill. And if these engineers learn programming, he/she becomes an asset to the semiconductor industry. Its just the time and opportunity that they work for a company or start their own.
