Don't let Max know about this; the poor thing will end up on a bagel with bacon!   Sort of "cold fusion cuisine" you might aay.

The octopus is only an intern. To improve our body count, HR has hired Aegaeon, Cottus, and Gyges. The famous Greek Hecatoncheires agreed to each work on an 8 hour shift in the lab as long as we pay them by the head. We agreed knowing that would give us over twelve times the performance and form 3 core groups of 100 arms. Unfortunately HR missed that they had 50 heads when they arrived to take pictures for their badges.

Telling my supervisor that I couldn't perform all those tasks at once because "I'm not an octopuss" gave him the wrong idea.

David Patterson, known for his pioneering research that led to RAID, clusters and more, is part of a team at UC Berkeley that recently made its RISC-V processor architecture an open source hardware offering. We talk with Patterson and one of his colleagues behind the effort about the opportunities they see, what new kinds of designs they hope to enable and what it means for today’s commercial processor giants such as Intel, ARM and Imagination Technologies.
