Chinese measurement equipment manufacturer Rigol Technologies has launched a new manufacturing and engineering facility in Suzhou. The 41,000 m² (440,000 ft²) facility will allow the company to continue its growth, Rigol said in a press release.
The new manufacturing campus will house Rigol's instrument manufacturing operations as well as logistics, conference facilities, expansion of its R&D team and even, as usual in China, dormitories for the employees. The manufacturing facility combines state-of-the-art SMT lines for PCB production as well as injection molding and metal fabrication capabilities in one location. This allows Rigol to insure competitive quality while at the same time providing flexibility and reduced cycle times. All Rigol instrument manufacturing has now been transferred to Suzhou. The company's primary R&D center remains in Beijing.
The new campus is located in Suzhou, about 80 kilometers from Shanghai. Suzhou is considered a hub of technology manufacturing; in addition it is a favorable location from the logistics perspective as many precision electronics component suppliers are located in South East China. This proximity to its supply chain will allow Rigol to better manage the demands resulting from its current growth. In addition, Suzhou is a large center for Rigol's domestic customers.
