28Gb/s for WDM link seems awfully low...you can get that on one silicon channel electrically!

I asked Imec about the 28Gb/s rating and got this response referring to 400 Gb/s: "Imec's announcement is about the co-integration of modulators and photodetectors with improved performance, enabling 28 Gb/s bit rates per (wavelength) channel. In addition, we also reported compact and thermally tunable WDM filters with high power efficiency. These building blocks can be combined to realize compact, WDM-enabled Si Photonics transceivers with aggregate bandwidths of 400 Gb/s and more."
