John is not a "former professor" at Stanford. In fact he's been active in several ways recently at Stanford Engineering. 

    Otherwise, I'm sure he appreciated your article.

I changed the title to "emeritus" as he was introduced and is on his Stanford page where I see he does teach a class.

It was gaming and memory devices once that were pushing the technology boundaries but now cloud, IoT, big data etc are making engineering jobs more interesting and challenging.
