LOL!

So Engineering re-designed Humpty into a more streamlined shape.  All went well until XYZ Corp sued for infringement on THEIR streamlined symmetrical-egg-shape patent.

Engineering fixed Humpty and he was better than new.

Then marketing decided that didn't like the egg shape. They wanted him more streamlined.

@ mhrackin Thanks!  A management follow-up might be something like "The King's men frittered away 6 weeks with no results, and the King is getting antsy, so you Engineers had better deliver by tomorrow at the latest."

Congratulations on your well-deserved win.  Your caption was unique, unlike so many of the submissions.  Also, it will resonate with ALL of the much-put-upon engineers who frequent this site!

Thank you Karen!  But I think some explanation is due to our international readers who might not see the meaning behind this.

Humpty Dumpty is the subject of an old English childrens' nursery rhyme that goes like this:

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses and all the king's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again

and most illustrations accompanying the rhyme in childrens' books show Humpty Dumpy as a rather large egg.

More information on Wikipedia, from which the above quoted text was taken (and from memory, although I think I recall a version that used "All the king's soldiers and all the King's men").
