@Krutsch, thanks for posting your msg. You raise a very good point -- "safety." Safety is a whole new ball game for mobile network operators who have been, thus far, not too concerned with a "can-you-hear-me-now?" scenario.

The problem is not only latency, it is also QoS or to put it in automotive words, Safety. If infrastructure becomes safety relevant it needs auto quality and that is a lot more demanding to do and more power hungry. The next thing is the networking guys are used to do consumer with some bliz bliz here and there, like an ECC, but they have no idea about safety and what it takes to do an SoC for that.

Latency reduction is great; from there to self driving cars... let's say it is not a short road to walk.
