Yes, the NTU guys are working with some Japanese robot makers to adapt its smart search and recognize algoriths to robots to assist the elderly. They'll need to have voice recognition for sure, and maybe the abiilty to help them get up when they fall plus maybe administer first aid for abrasions. Thanks.

Something that could be implemented soon and of great help might be to detect when an elderly person is in trouble. In a companion robot or surveillance system. You could try to use the cams to measure heart rate and respiratory rate, maybe try to look for perspiration , blinking and any kind of abnormal behavior.  Get that done well enough , add voice and some other functions to the robot and might be good enough to be marketable.

Lots of great app ideas, realjjj, and you're right about the video. My favorite part is the app-specific indexing ahead of time, which will eliminate the need for connection to the cloud.

So this is where Mediatek got the idea to measure the heart rate with the camera. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peU-mp3pdvo

The chip they are making should be for glasses , better fits the timing and the needs of the form factor.

There might be some uses in advertising for user uploaded video and AR . I even wonder about crazy things like directing a movie or at least music video. If at some point it gets smart enough. In cars ,maybe it could help out by monitoring the user and the landscape to play the right tune- aside from the obvious smart HUD and later autonomous cars. Analyzing the behavior of dogs could be interesting, a dog to human translator and warning system. Focusing on commerce and security (oppression in some cases) is the wrong thing to do though. lol imagine this used to monitor employees and how happy they are, got the feeling 80% of the planet would get fired. Glasses offer so many opportunities and are inevitable. That plants app, could be evolved into a gardening app. Then you can do cooking apps that see what you are doing and help out, smart refrigerators and ovens and apps that assist you in a million other things. From Ikea or Lego manuals to assisting a doctor or seeing an incoming threat.  In general you need a smart dynamic UI in glasses for anything and you can even optimize battery life and the perf of the device.
