Intriguing approach. I don't normally like to nitpick but the figure you used for cell size is actually not from TechInsights but is rather from an article I wrote for 3DIncites entitled:

"Samsung's 3D V-NAND Flash Product: Ceaselessly Marching"

from Dec 9th 2015.

Obviously doesn't distract from the main message.

Yes, I believe its true--that HDs are obsolete--but it will be at lease next year before any of BeSang's customers are ready to ship a SSD at 2¢ a Gbyte.

A 90% drop in per bit price for SSDs puts them below hard drives, and hard drives no longer have any reason to exist. Most thought that day wouldn't come until the early to mid 2020s.
