"High Speed Sensor Link" unclear or blocking point?!

WOW! Great approach and all respect for the engineers investing effort and time to make it happen, but the article does not closely discover the "High Speed Sensor Link" candidate technologies.

There is a good reason why a RADAR sensor placed in the "nose of the vehicle" has local processing, as none of today's twisted pair based wired bus systems would be capable to transport that information with the desired low latency to the DRS360.

Same applies to the LIDAR sensors.

Ask the car OEM's if they agree to place all those sensors in "one box" (including the DRS360). And even a car OEM might say "Yes", the second question would be: where to place this 100W "sensor fusion box" in the car?

Hi Junko,

Nice job on the story. Thought a link to a video overview of the product given by our AD director, Amin Kashi, might be of interest: http://go.mentor.com/4S6u9.
