Judging the May 2017 cartoon caption competition was a breeze harder than you might expect. And, as usual, the EE Times Elves did their work cheerfully, giggling over all the entries and happily ingesting some highly caffeinated drinks, as the little elves came to a consensus.
The winning entry, by EE Time Community Member dt_hayden, was "After he carelessly pressed the wrong button one time too many, the engineers devised a safe space from which their manager could 'manage'."
After he carelessly pressed the wrong button one time too many, the engineers devised a safe space from which their manager could 'manage'.
And the runners up -- in no particular order (the EE Times Elves aren't very good at "order") -- were as follows:
TGR0: "Ned got stuck drumming up support for new lab equipment."
BrainiacV: "Carl, the clueless manager, was once again in his bubble of ignorance."
BrainiacV: "Engineer Frank was trapped in the current fad, waiting for the bubble to pop."
SteveC210: "o as not to disturb the engineers it's essential to keep Marketing constrained within a reality bubble with a clear window of opportunity – we call it scope on a rope."
The first experiment in extended faster-than-light travel was a success. Sadly, Bob was now less than a sixteenth of an inch tall and weighed 400lbs, and was only visible thanks to the convex shape of his protective air-tight bubble. His biggest regret, however, was having that liverwurst and head cheese sandwich for lunch.
