Qualcomm blanketed the Boston train stations this past summer with consumer advertisements proclaiming that Qualcomm is what made smartphones useful.

Have these ads been seen in other cities? Any ideas why Qualcomm placed these ads?

Remember Intel's low-power platform?

One of the Intel guys responded to this story in a social media, writing this:

Do you remember Moorestown? Intel's low-power platform based on Atom and the Evans Peak wireless module (WiFi, BT, GPS and WiMAX). It seems that Apple has considered it for the iPhone from the very beginning. Where would have been Qualcomm, Intel, ARM, Nokia and Infineon today if Apple has chosen the WiMAX path back in 2007?

Indeed, the history would have been different.
