@david,

I revived this one when I saw the package of knishes in the supermarket the other day. I also knew that Max could not resist replying to my reply of his older comment. Besides, with 98 comments, I knew that those two comments would get the article reach 100.

You know, I divide my time between EET and EDN (both T&M parts). EDN's technical articles and Design Ideas get trickles of comments for years. EET articles tend to be more short lived.

All these comments almost a year and a half after the column was posted prove that old EET Food Blogs never die...they don't even go mouldy....they're as fresh as the day they were made!

Lox does kind of sound like a scientific unit of measurment.

Martin: "All is well in the world. The knish factory has recovered from the fire. I found this package of six at the local Wegman's supermarket. I resisted, but it was not easy."

My grandmother was a wise old lady and while she would not have known what a knish was, she used to say "A little of what you fancy does you good!"  A very wise old lady...

@MeasurementBlues: A colleague of ours sent this link about knishes...

It's not often one hears oneself saying that (at leats, not me). I clicked on that link to find effusive prose along the lines of: "The knish has entered hipster lingo" and "I do believe a knish renaissance is about to take hold."

It's almost lik ereading one of your more technical columns LOL.

"Take hold of what?" I ask myself (whilst crossing my legs).

@MeasurementBlues: The last time that happened, Lord Voldemort had been defeated.

Was this what caused the Knish Factory Fire in the first place?

@Max,

Ah -- that would explain all the people I saw dancing in the streets on my way into work this morning!

Max,

All is well in the world. The knish factory has recovered from the fire. I found this package of six at the local Wegman's supermarket. I resisted, but it was not easy.
